lyrics

[Intro: Tense]
You know one thing I've come to realize is this: Whether you know God or not, you gon' always have trials in this life. And yeah everybody don't handle they trials the same way. I done seem some people close to me go astray. One of my bros killed himself; shot himself dead in the head. And if you ask me, I can't even tell you what all he was going through. You know it's thing we all go through in life; it's called the wilderness. It's a time where you feel like you by yourself in everything you going through. It's a time where you gotta learn how to survive when all that stuff you once depended on is up and gone. I tell you man, the past couple of years opened my eyes up to so much in this life. For those of you that's struggling now, you probably thinking about giving up. I thought the same but with the little strength I had man I kept my eyes on God and that's how I made it through. Here's my story

[Verse 1: Tense]
The struggle feels like eternity. I'm talkin' sleepin in the cold.
No heat up on the stove.
Tossed to and fro.
No rest for my soul.
Am I blessed? I don't know
'cause it feel like God is gone.
One minute I was livin on my own.
unexpectedly evicted out my home.
went from sitting on a throne
now i'm sitting on the flo'
i didn't have the best of clothes
couldn't even buy no shoes 'cause my money lookin' bold
I buy a whip every year, it got me stranded on the road
I met some chicks along the way, they stood me up 'cause I was broke
I seen a man touch my mama, he ended up getting choked
all this pain make you wanna pour a cup and light a smoke
nights of masturbation, the only thing to help me cope
got kicked outta school, finishing on time was my goal
I owe the IRS, I didn't mean to dig this hole
But he stretched his hand out, pulled me up and made me whole

[Hook: Tense]
And if that didnt kill me. Im goin' higher.
He came and he healed me and made me a fighter.
Im still standin right on my tippy toes.
I Thought I was done but the lord worked a miracle.
He'll never let u down (never stand you up, only one that man can trust)
He'll never let u down (never stand you up, only one that man can trust)
He'll never let u down (never stand you up, only one that man can trust)
He'll never let u down (never stand you up, only one that man can trust)

[Verse 2: King Deo]
Travel the country, it's a ghetto every place you go
the west side of Detroit is where ya' boy almost abandoned hope
hit the bottle so heavy, blowing trees and dabbled off in coke
run up in ya' house with pistols cocked asking where is the dough
terrorizing my mama, cursing at her, man I'm so ashamed
assaulted after school the last time so I joined a gang
my cigarello full of kush
I'm standing on the edge, just need a nudge forget a push
I was headed to an early grave
I mean, I know about this Jesus but I didn't know he say
there's power in his name, can wake a sleeping bear from out his cave
I was a wild lion, Jesus came and let me out the cage
Real recognize real, this is my story, turn the page
Accepted as I was, took me in and called me son of God
I was bait on the hook, he reeled me in just like a fishing rod
I was endangered to myself, yeah I'm similar to Chedda Bob
Christ came into my life and no statistics bro, I beat the odds

[Hook]

[Verse 3: Desciple]
Spit it for the bishops with the collars and and the crosses
old heads eight in the morning looking nauseous
young cats holding down forts with they taurus
and they aint taking shorts or no losses, i'm from Detroit
where every other corner is a church, and every other corner is a liquor store
So you either spitting flows or sipping michelob
or in the league or winning souls, you don't hear me though
been through some tribulations, I been through some trials
caught a couple cases, never went to trial
Been in some situations, shouldn't have made it out
I fell to temptation, my girl lived in they house
I write(right) my wrongs 'cause if I left 'em out, you wouldn't feel me
look to the hills(heels), he looked beyond my achilles
Renaissance man, D to the rep my city
a strong man because the strong man didn't kill me

[Hook]
